Once you finish sightseeing, give yourself a relaxed day among the beaches on the south of Athens which you can easily reach in a very short time. You can also go on a cruise to see the islands around. The region also offers parks and nature all around the city. Make sure you climb on the hills to see Lycabettus and Pnyx, Philopappos hill and Ardettos hill for one of the best panoramic views of the whole city.

The city is again full of ancient archaeological sites such as theatres, castles, and odeon and a church of the old age. One of the most impressive buildings of the city is the Cathedral of Agios Andreas. A part of the city is lately constructed where you can distinguish the Georgiou I Square. If you are looking some smaller villages you will need to go more to the north of the region. Astakos and Mytikas are two small fishing villages where you can try to rent a boat and explore the Ionian sea. If you are looking for some beaches the best places of the region are in in the center of the region with the most famous one being the Kalogria Beach.

Korinthos

Tripoli is the capital of the region and it is located in the central part of Peloponnese. This region is really famous for the beautiful coastline that surrounds it. Not only that, but also a big legacy of plenty of flock that lived in the region. One of the most impressive city of the region is Sparta. In this city you will find museums about about the old spartans and also  Mystras, an old forteresse of the spartans, which is today part of  UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is also an other really old town in the region called Corinth. In this city you can feel all the ancient legacy of the region with the temple of Apollo, the ancient theatre and the Glauke Fountain.

Being greek and while meeting people abroad, I’ve always been asked about **the greek mythology and the life of the legendary gods of Olympus. **People have always been wondering whether the greek mythology is something we’re being taught at school or something that’s being transmitted from generation to generation as a bed-time story, or maybe let’s say as a fairytale!

Olympia is a religious center of Greece, in the Peloponnese, more precisely in a small plain of Elide, on the right bank of the Alpheus and at the foot of Mount Cronion, and very close to the small modern city of " Olympia, about 18 km from the town of Pyrgos and the Ionian Sea. At the site site was the Altis, a sacred wood, and the Altar of Zeus. The stadium itself was in the middle of a wood of wild olive trees.

The Olympia site hosted the Olympic Games during Antiquity, and today the Olympic Flame is lit a few months before the opening ceremony of the modern Olympics.
