The alternative vibe of Bristol

If I go back to live in the UK, it will most likely be in the city of Bristol. I had the opportunity to have a full English Christmas back, hiking and enjoying places in Wales and England with my boyfriend and his family, and the opportunity to visit Bristol, and I need to say that I was pretty impressed by the kind of energy the city has, the amazing graffiti all over the big walls of the buildings next to the city centre and the beauty of this typical English place. The city is famous for its sights (the Cathedral is spectacular), and its university that attracts many young students from all over the world. The most iconic attraction is Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge, which you can see in the cover picture above.

This city is very well known for the popular Bristol International Balloon Fiesta that takes place every year in August, between the 8th and the 11th. This fascinating event is free and gathers over 100 hot air balloons that take off at dawn and dusk as well as the famous Night Glows - the balloons light up the sky in tune to music. This is Europe's largest annual meeting of hot air balloons and it can only be seen in Bristol!

Dining by the harbour...

Bristol has an incredible maritime legacy, since the Avon river runs across the city reaching the  harbour of the city, which made the city a very important place for trading purposes between England and Ireland during the Middle Ages. You just need to walk around the harbour to realise it's indeed the heart of the city, full of multicultural young people, cool pubs with bright lights and restaurants. If possible, go for a walk during the sunset to be able to appreciate the lights even more.

There are many activities and things to do in Bristol, but if you are looking for a cool place to eat, I am about to tell you about a restaurant where you can soak up the energy and the vibe of the city: Za Za Bazar! This is a fixed price buffet restaurant located in Bristol's harbour with an incredible variety of global food: Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Italian, and European are the main varieties you can find there.** So it is the perfect place if you want to have fun and try different types of food**. To be honest, the appeal of this place is not only about its food, but also about the decoration and the energy of the place, that reminded me of a street food market with very cool neon lights all over the restaurant. My advice is don't eat much during the day to be able to make the most of its delicious food!
