How many different kinds of roses do you think exist in nature? Probably way more than you would expect! The good news? You can admire over 3000 different ones here!
The wonderful Rose Garden Coloma is ready to thrill your senses with beautiful colours and smells.
In the centre of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, on the grounds of the Coloma Castle—a 16th century chateau home to generations of noble families—this 15-hectares garden is the perfect spot for flower lovers, with over 3000 varieties of roses from 26 different countries.
Other than the insane number of stunning roses cultivated in the garden, one other amazing fact about the Coloma Rose Garden is how long it took to be completed. Over 10 years, from 1995 to 2005! Back in the 90s, the Agency for Nature and Forests decided to cultivate a rose garden hoping to attract more visitors to the picturesque Coloma Castle, which was purchased by the municipality of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw in 1985. We think they achieved their goal successfully.
