Since 1570, the doors in the Schwarzer Adler have been open to guests from all over the world. Built around the year 1550 by the Knights of St. John, the typical Tyrolean inn "the Black Eagle" was already a highly valued stage destination for travelers and carters across the Arlberg. From the stones of the ruin "Arlen", the castle on which Heinrich Findelkind - the founder of the brotherhood of St. Christopher - lived from Kempten, became such a widely known meeting place. The frescoes on the facade of the house are an expression of regional culture and testify to a colorful past.
