Austria, along with neighboring Switzerland, is the winter sports center of Europe. The environment has been strongly affected by heavy industry in the valleys. The largest city is Slovenj Gradec, a town with many beautiful churches worth visiting. The parish church in the town is dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. Next to it stands a Gothic chapel dedicated to the Holy Spirit, with frescos from the mid-15th century. Apart from religious attractions, the town hosts the Slovenj Gradec Art Gallery, that proposes international fine art exhibitions.

Carinthia

Nassfeld or Naßfeld is a town and ski resort in the district Hermagor of the Austrian state of Carinthia. It is located below the Nassfeld Pass. Lake Pressegg is nearby, where it is possible to swim in summer and ice skate in the winter.
