Housed in a historic building (Seeauerhaus) directly on the banks of the Traun on the Esplanade, we present many exhibitions and events from a variety of topics.

Come in and see the long-forgotten times up close, as if it had been yesterday! Stroll there, where Emperor Franz Josef got engaged to Elisabeth in Bavaria.

The Museum of the City is a unique, year-round cultural and tourist offer in Bad Ischl. It presents in an impressive, entertaining yet scientific way the local history of the Salzkammergut and Bad Ischl in particular, but also events and history (s) of international importance.

Even the special exhibitions - be it the Christmas Nativity Set, exhibitions that provide a platform for local artists, exhibitions that deepen the contents of the collections and that regularly cause a sensation - and the many activities that contribute to this the Museum of the City of Bad Ischl can present a unique program.
