Minsk

The capital and largest city is Minsk, which is centrally located in the country along the Svislač and the Nyamiha rivers. Minsk is the cultural capital of the country, and has many theaters, cinemas and museums to visit. The city of Brest, located near the Polish border, has seen the influence of many different cultures and countries throughout history, which is evident in its architecture. In the western-central portion of the country in the town of Mir is the Mir Castle Complex, a UNESCO world heritage site. Nearby is another UNESCO site, the Nesvizh Castle.
