Koniki rite at Kalyady celebration, Davyd-Haradok, Belarus

The Davyd-Horodok village celebrates the winter holiday of Kalyady on the 13.01. A group of people going around the houses and praising the landlords for a treat or a gift are called Kalyadniki. The main character of almost every Kalyadniki group is the « Konik» - a white "horse" or a "horseman".
