For car enthusiasts, mechanical history buffs, & the museum curious; Autoworld is for you. In Parc du Cinquantenaire, Autoworld drives you through car history.

300+ car models await you over two floors at Autoworld. Car brands like Volvo, Ferrari, Toyota, and Mazda are put on display. First, you take a walk back in time to the 17th century to explore earlier car designs that took effect with the invention of steam power and took inspiration from horse-drawn carriages.

As you walk on, you catch a glimpse of 20th century artefacts that include American drive-in cars and the progression of the motorcycle industry.Upstairs, you will find a full layout of the evolution of race cars as well as a complete runway of more modern models and the addition of eco-friendly designs that brought us electric cars.

  • The museum is also the home of several cars that once belonged to the Belgian Royal family.
  • Check out the‘Sports & Competition’ section where children can sit inside the models (perfect for a quick picture!).
  • The Belgian Automotive museum was built in 1986 with the efforts of Ghislain Mahy and his family, King Albert II, and President of the Chamber of Representatives Herman De Croo (head of the Belgian Department of Transportation).
  • The museum holds various events and expos throughout the year that change annually. In 2020, the museum celebrated Mazda’s 100 year anniversary, Volkswagen milestones, and 125 of Skoda Auto.
