The iconic Art Deco basilica of Brussels. Get to the top for an awesome view and get your fill of its culture packed museums and exhibits.
What a grand sight! This basilica on the outskirts of Brussels is actually the fifth biggest church in the whole world. Known for its beautiful Art Deco style and view it offers from the top, the Basilica is a favourite for tourists visiting Brussels. The Basilica is the star of Elisabeth Park for its stunning Art Deco architecture. But it’s more than just a pretty sight. The Basilica holds important pieces of Belgian history.
Beautiful views most visitors to the Basilica and here for the city view of Brussels and for good reason. The viewpoint is 174ft (53m) high and offers up a great 180 degree view of the city.
King Leopold II laid the first stone to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Belgian independence in 1905. But the Basilica wasn’t totally complete until 1971. The long wait was worth it, don’t you think?
