**Pop into the brewery to enjoy a varied selection of Belgian craft beers at a gnome-tastic brewery in the heart of the Ardennes. **
The Achouffe brewery started in the 1970s by brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts. A few years later, the brothers bought a farm and really got to brewing. With every new beer made, a new gnome character was created. Yup, gnomes. When you go along the tasting you’ll see the gnome logos on your Chouffe beer glass.
Selection of 8 Belgian craft beers to choose from. Blond beer, IPA, dark, cherry and more. The tour of Chouffe brewery takes about 1.5 hours, tasting included. At the tasting you get to try 4 Belgian beers in their Auberge des Lutins (Gnome’s Inn).
OK, but what’s with the gnomes?
Back in 1982, there was a tornado in the Ardennes village of Léglise. One of the founders, Chris, saw a fundraiser by local artists for the victims on TV. One watercolor caught his attention. It showed a gnome, hidden in the long grass, spying on a farm. From then on, gnomes became a thing.
