**A pretty diving lake just outside Floreffe suitable for newbie divers and beginners. **

Welcome to the quarry of Floreffe. Home to the local diving club, friendly fish, and mysterious objects forgotten beneath the water, Floreffe is a great diving spot for all ability levels. This super pretty quarry is hidden away by high rocky walls just outside the city of Floreffe. It’s about as close as you can get to diving in a lagoon in Belgium.

Sadly, you can’t just waddle in with diving equipment and get going. Make sure to book your diving place in the summer with the local diving club.

Dive in

Ever been diving before? Floreffe has a gentle slope where you’ll launch off into the water. From there, you’ll explore the 918ft long (280 m) water. With an average depth of about 42ft (13m), Floreffe has enough space to explore without being too much for beginners. Plus, the water heats up quickly in the summer and you can see freshwater jellyfish in July.

What will you see while you’re diving? Well, Floreffe has very good visibility so you’ll see around 3m ahead of you. The lake has sunken boats and planes to see, plus vibrant plant life, and a variety of fish including carp, trout, kapers and more. A full dive of the water to see everything takes about 1 hour.

  • Accessible: Floreffe’s quarry is suitable for beginners and for disabled divers.
  • Affordable: getting into Carrière de Floreffe is just a few euros, with discount tickets available for kids.
  • Kid friendly: children can dive in at a reduced price. The gentle slope and relatively shallow waters makes Floreffe one of the most family-friendly diving spots around. Plus, you can book an instructor.
