Long description: Open all year round but undoubtedly a summer hotspot, recreation park De Ster is a great day out with the friends or family. There’s so much going on it might make your head spin, but the large beach area is perfect if you want to get in your relaxation zone and just enjoy the sun - and only 30 minutes from Antwerp!
- The 450m beach is ideal for anyone looking to lay out their towel, with a good sized supervised swimming area if you need to cool off.
- If you’re feeling a little adventurous, give the Aquapark a go! Open rain or shine, this bouncy water haven isn't for the faint of heart. Then there’s nothing stopping you trying the Monstersummerslide - yep, it’s as monstrous as it sounds with the proud title of the largest inflatable water slide in Europe!
- It wouldn’t be a lake without boats. Steer clear of the inflatables by renting a row or paddle boat for a relaxing trip on the water.
- Challenge your family or friends to a game of mini golf on the Kosmos course. We know how these games can get, so keep it friendly guys…
- Bringing the kids? All ages are bound to be kept happy with playgrounds, mini go-karts, an air trampoline and even a petting zoo!
Let’s get physical
All of that not enough for you? If you’re the seriously sporty type, you’ll be even more spoilt for choice both in and out of the water.
- Head to the designated water sports area d'Aquarena for stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. It’s also possible to dive during certain parts of the day and there’s even 50m swimming lengths (if you can’t find anything better to do…)
- Rather keep your feet on the ground? There are outdoor areas reserved for fishing, beach volleyball, tennis and football. You’ll also find 3 signposted loops in the domain ranging from 3-5km if you fancy a walk.
- If the weather’s not looking great or your favourite sport requires a certain type of floor (hello roller skaters!), there’s an indoor sports hall on site equipped for, well, roller skating as well as badminton, volleyball, baseball and more.
Worked up an appetite? Enjoy a picnic on the benches by the pond or visit the Beach Club or Tavern De Brokkelinck.
Tips and Tricks
- Admission to the site is free except for between April 3rd and September 30th when you must pay admission to the domain.
- You can buy tickets on site or reserve online here.
- We recommend reserving your ticket online if it’s going to be hot and sunny.
- If you’re planning to visit a lot throughout the summer, buy a season ticket! This must be bought before June 15th.
- The swimming area is only open when a lifeguard is present.
- The indoor sports hall and some attractions require reservation in advance. Find more info on the website.
- Pets must stay at home.
- Cycling/biking isn’t allowed on site.
- Residents of East Flanders get a discounted entry ticket!

Open; maximum of 3,000 people allowed on site per day. Check their Facebook page for updates. Changing rooms and showers are unavailable. National COVID rules are in place.
