The city square located in the heart of Ghent, with some of the town’s best architecture surrounded by local restaurants, pubs, and shops.

  • Ghent’s beloved waterfront square is a local hotspot for students and locals alike. One of the best among the impressive architecture found here in the “Wheat Market” is the former post office and the Sint-Niklaaskerk, which was a church formed in 1200!
  • Since this is the city centre of the student city, life is always thriving here. You can find plenty of yummy restaurants, student bars, and boutique shops where all the locals hangout! Nearby is the Stadshal or “City Pavilion”, which is a modern canopy standing next to the Belfry. Both are iconic buildings in Ghent worth checking out!
  • Ghent Christmas Market: During the winter months you can find the Korenmarkt in its most charming form. With over 150 wooden stalls, there’s no limit to all the handmade trinkets, mulled wine, and other Christmas goodies you can find here!
