Stop off at Lake Cherapont for swimming, fishing, hiking or a spot of lunch by the water.

This quiet domain is surrounded by nature, only 5 minutes from the Luxembourg border and a great spot for a chill day out in the sun. With direct access to a pond, lake, and the river Ourthe, there’s plenty to feed your summer water fix.

  • Swim away! Part of the lake is reserved for swimming, with the spring water clean and safe to enjoy. There’s even a sandy beach so reserve your spot with a towel and take a dip before a nap in the sun.
  • The lake is part of a larger domain that includes areas for camping as well as a pétanque (boules) court and two tennis courts.
  • If you want to upgrade from picnic status, there is a restaurant on the lake serving local cuisine.
  • The other part of the lake is reserved for different kinds of fishing, where you can (hopefully) catch trout, pike, bream and more. The fishing area is a no-kill zone so no serving up your catch on the barbecue.

Hiking

There are heaps of beautiful hikes around this area. The Cherapont Trail starts from the camping area at Lake Cherapont and embarks on a 7km loop through the surrounding nature and streams.
