Detailed origin story: The elites eventually moved out and took their exotic plants with them following a financial dip in 1960, the government stepped in and eventually was turned into the beautiful plant veranda area called Le Botanique, a cultural center with three concert halls that can hold up to a thousand visitors.

• Stroll in the gardens: relax in Le Botanique’s garden. It’s free to wander the small but charming garden. There’s pretty flowers and a small hedge maze in front of Le Botanique to snap up photos of.
