**Looking for an excuse to get lost in nature? Neigembos forest offers lots of ways to do that! **

Covering just over 70 hectares, Neigembos is an excellent walking paradise. Once you’re there, you’ll notice how extensive their animal kingdom is; the birds range from kingfishers to woodpeckers to bats and they coexist alongside roe deers, frogs, and butterflies.

Neigembos is also rich in biodiversity. Inside the forest, you’ll find horsetail, wood anemone, celandine, marsh marigold, periwinkle, and even watercress. Visitors are warned to be cautious while walking during the drier seasons, when forest fires are a more common occurrence.

Many of the people who come to Neigembos come for the signposted hikes. There are three mapped walks you can follow:

  • The Dikke Beuken Walk (1.5km)
  • The Bevingen Walk (2.2km)
  • The Groeben Walk (3.7km)

Fancy a bike ride? There is also a guided trail that stretches out over 47km for any cyclist who’s looking for an afternoon ride.
