Go for a stroll in the pretty park by the river. Lots of artsy sights to see and photo spots. Perfect as your first stop in Liege.

Stroll this Liege city park for artsy sights and picnic spaces. Right by the river Meuse, Parc Boverie is a popular jogging and walking spot for locals and tourists alike especially as it’s super close to the train station. At least make it your first or last stop of the city as it’s one of the prettiest places in Liege. Plus, get your art fill at art museum La Boverie in the heart of the park.

Parc Boverie is a green space in Liege. Grab a picnic basket for a family day out in the park or go for a solo stroll. Walk around the river for views of Liege and interesting buildings like the train station and the Finance Tower (Tour Paradis). Cross the bridge Passerelle La Belle Liégeoise for nice views and to quickly get across to the other side of the city.

  • Take the shuttle boat to the city centre! There’s one about every hour (except in the winter). This will start off your trip in Liege just right.
  • Cybernetic Light Tower: do you hear that sound? This tower sends out light and music depending on the weather and the noise of the park. You could hear 1 of 12 music moments and see different kinds of lights from the 120 projectors each time you visit the park. The tower has been around since the 1960s.
  • Art museum: in 1905, Parc Boverie hosted the Universal Exhibition. The pretty building Palais des Beaux Arts was made specially for the event. Thankfully, they didn’t knock it down after the event was over and these days it’s home to art museum La Boverie.
  • Artistic arcs: sculpture your travel story arc with some sculptures by the river. These steel arcs (Les arcs de Venet) by French artist Bernar Venet are at the end of the park, near Fragnée bridge.
