Not your average park! Check out the big, free to visit gardens and see the historic castle in Enghien.

The garden has been around since the 17th century. Back in its heyday in the 17th century, everyone said it was the most beautiful garden in Europe. It’s still pretty and has aged gracefully. Plus, festivals and art exhibits are held in the park throughout the year. While you can’t pop into the castle, you’re free to take a stroll around the gardens. Enjoy its classical charms on a casual walk or pick up a club and get golfing.

Parc du Château d'Enghien is a major heritage site of Wallonia. If you plan on visiting the province, you should add it to your list. The castle was once owned by the d'Arenberg noble family. These days, though, it’s a charming park for all.

  • A visit to the park starts with an audiovisual show about the history of parks/gardens of Europe from 400 years ago ‘till now.
  • Seven walkways in the garden go from the pavilion have a statue at the end representing the seven planets known at the time
  • Stroll the rose garden, mini hedge garden and more. See if you can spot the Chinese wall paintings near the castle.
  • Check out the statue of Jef Lambeau too. He was a Belgian sculptor in the 1800s.

Cool contemporary art: visit the park in September to see the biennial art expo Miroirs. Each expo has a specific theme and shows off work by contemporary artists. No need to book your tickets just show up to the park for all the art goodies you can find. Check out when the art expo is on
