‘t Struisvogelnest (the Ostrich Nest) petting zoo is practically a mini zoo with farm animals like donkeys, sheep, turkeys, alpacas and more! If you want to see animals up close, ‘t Struisvogelnest is a great choice for the kids. However, either for the family or adult-only outing, be sure to check out the hiking trails - choose a trail ranging from 4 to 10 km. So you can choose an easy-breezy walk or a more strenuous one depending on what you fancy.

Their cafe on the terrace also has some interesting stuff like ostrich egg pancakes on sale; it’s worth checking out while you’re there. The petting zoo is based right next to the owners farm, so you can buy fresh fruit and veggies from their shop.

• They have 3 hiking trails ranging from a short hike of 4 km to a long 10.3km. All of them start at the petting zoo. After the walk you can grab a drink at the petting zoo roof or terrace

• Bonus tip: the pancakes & cakes at the cafe here are made from ostrich eggs. Yes, the ones you just saw at the petting zoo
