Hike this 20km beauty and walk alongside waterfalls while exploring the three valleys near Malmedy.
Malmedy and the surrounding areas are a sight for sore eyes with changing landscapes, streams, waterfalls and even castles around (what seems like) every corner. Take in the sights as you go from lush woodland to marshy moors on this epic 20km hike into part of the High Fens (Hautes Fagnes) nature reserve.
The trail starts off at the Moulin du Bayehon in Longfaye and follows the three valleys and their gems to the source of the Trôs-Marèts river at 600m high! From here you’ll walk through the impressive landscape of Fagnes du Setay and end the hike crossing the plateau to head back to the Bayehon valley.
So, more about those gems. As well as constant streams and stunning views, the three valley hike is full of highlights so it’s definitely worth bringing your camera.
Chasing waterfalls: As you’re heading back towards Longfaye at the end of the hike, Cascade du Bayehon is like the cherry on top of the already epic-sights-filled cake. Marvel at the scenery, dip your toes in the water or, if you’re really not done walking, try and find the famous old oak tree (Vieux Chêne) a ten minute stroll away.
