Mina du Veloso

This is an old underground gallery used for gold extraction in the XVIII and XIX centuries that has now been adapted for tourist visitation. It belonged to Colonel José Veloso do Carmo and was mainly exploited by slave children, as it has 500 meters of narrow tunnels. Picture © Credits to flickr/ Ane Souz/PMOP
