Previously home to the municipal government of Alajuela, the Conservatory was founded in 1983. You can't miss the pleasantly pink Alajuela Conservatory. It's located on the west side of Alajuela Central Park. It is one of the centers for promoting socio-cultural activities in Alajuela, Costa Rica. It demonstrates the community’s dedication to promoting not only traditional and classic music, but also an appreciation for all the arts. It is self-sustaining in part through the offering of classes in music and other arts. The municipal government provides some financial contributions along with donations of musical and sound instruments and the historic building itself. The building reflects historical architecture with its 2-story balconies overlooking a tropically landscaped central courtyard. It is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the music in the air. It is usually opened weekdays 2:00-9:00pm and could be closed on national holidays. © Credits Flickr/hostelsantamaria
