Have you ever wondered what it was like living during the cold war in Eastern Europe? Well, now is your chance to learn!

You may have heard once or twice that the Czech Republic used to be under the communist regime. Now you can hear about it first hand through guides who have either lived or had parents live through this time. Which definitely makes for an authentic tour.

In case of a future nuclear attack, you’ll know where to hide in Prague after the tour. You’ll learn a bit more about the Czech’s history and the wars that took place during the 20th century.

All in all, the tour will leave you a tad more knowledgeable about the communist era in the Czech Republic.

  • This bunker dates back to the 1950s and is 50 feet underground! Inside it’s all Cold War vibes and they even have a gas mask workshop where you can see a bunch of different styles of gas masks.
  • During the time of the Cold War, the Czech Republic used to be Czechoslovakia, a country under communist rule. Don’t worry if this is way above your head! That’s the point of the tour to learn some interesting stuff about the past!
  • Throughout the tour, you’ll even learn about how the Russian’s invaded Prague in 1968. Yup, 50 feet above you Russian tanks and military occupied the city of Prague.

Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure to ask about the bunker’s caretaker story at some point throughout your tour.
  • Throw any questions you may have at the guides. They are super knowledgeable about the nuclear bunker and Prague’s history in general!
  • Good to do on a rainy day.

  • By Metro: 7 minute walk from Můstek metro stop. Line A and B stop here.
