**Czech’s most famous museum. An iconic building of Prague and museum filled with literally millions of things to see. **

It was a long 8 years between 2011-2019 when the museum was under construction but now this 19th century museum is open for all of us to explore once again. Located right at the top of Wenceslas Square many people admire the beauty of the building on a daily basis. The outside is beautiful, but it’s what you can find inside that makes this Czech’s most famous museum.

If you want to take a dive back in time then you can spend a few hours diving into the many exhibits that can be found inside the museum. We also love to recommend the park right behind the museum which is a perfect place to read a book or even have a picnic with friends on a sunny day.

  • Inside the museum, there is a lift that, if you pay 50 CZK (2$), will take you up to the dome where you can take in an awesome view of Wenceslas Square.
  • When buying a ticket for the National Museum it gives you access to both the New and Old museum. There is an underground tunnel that connects the two museums. So you don’t have to go outside and walk to the main entrance of the other one. Take the fun way and walk through the tunnel!
  • Museums may not be for everyone but the Czech National Museum houses over 14 million different items so we’re sure there’s something in there that will fascinate almost anyone! There’s everything from Medieval gems to 18th century paintings. A must for history buffs.
  • The outside of the original National Museum overlooks Wenceslas Square which is a popular place to visit with shops, markets, and restaurants.
