**Looking for one of the best views of Prague? You’ll be able to see the whole city from the top of Parukárka. **

Parukářka has been manicured over the years and wasn’t always known for being a pretty park to spend an afternoon. The beer gardens, parks, and views of the city have helped transform this park into one worth visiting.

Back in the day, it was known to have the largest Cold War-era anti-nuclear shelter that runs underneath the hill. Thankfully, people now come to just enjoy all the fun amenities Parukářka has to offer and you may even find the entrances to the bunkers while you’re exploring the park.

This is another one of those spots that’s great for sunset. Because Old Town Prague is down in a valley below you will have a great aerial view of the city from the top of Parukářka hill.

So if you’re looking to spend a full day in one spot Parukárka is the place to go and take advantage of all the things to do that are right in the park.

  • If you’re interested in actually seeing inside the bunkers and what they look like there are tours that take you right into the bunkers,
  • The park has a BBQ area with fire pits where you can barbecue your own food. It’s great for a picnic or fun-filled day in the park with friends or the family.
  • Since we’re in the Czech Republic of course there’s a pub that sells all sorts of refreshments (read; beer) to keep you hydrated and happy.
  • Back in the day, the park was a wine-growing and farming settlement. The vineyards were founded by none other than Emperor Charles IV.
