Take a trip to outer space and enjoy the planets and stars at the Prague Planetarium.

Who doesn't love exploring? Especially when it takes you away from Earth and into space. At the planetarium you don’t see the actual sky, instead, you see stars and planets projected on the ceiling above.

You’ll see all sorts of different simulations of comets, the moon, and different phases of the sun. So even though it’s not the real thing it’s the closest you can get to the galaxy. Plus, you don’t have to worry about having perfect weather and clear skies to see everything. You’ll simply just be able to look around and experience it all.

The Prague Planetarium is found on the edge of Stromovka Park which is one of the largest parks in Prague. After taking in everything about space you may be lucky enough to have a clear night sky and be able to enjoy the sky from outside while sitting in Stromovka Park.

  • Did you know that the Prague Planetarium is one of the largest in the world?
  • Inside the Planetarium, you can find an 843 m2 projector which is the largest in the Czech Republic. You definitely won’t be missing any details.
  • Inside you will be able to find 230 projectors and 120 projecting bulbs. From all these projectors you’ll be able to see the sky in the past, present, and even what it is predicted to look like in the future.
  • It may not be the most technically advanced planetarium today, but back in the 1960s when the planetarium was founded it was one of the most advanced in the world.
