Hluboka is arguably the most beautiful castle in the Czech Republic and once you see it you’ll see why!

Hluboka is one of the most visited chateaus in the country and is often a popular tour stop between Prague and Cesky Krumlov. Only a few kms off the main highway, you can see this big white chateau overlooking the Vltava River and the neighboring surroundings in the area.

From afar, it seems like your standard big building or chateau but once you get up close to Hluboka you realize that this is something special. The chateau has undergone multiple reconstructions and changes because it has swapped hands from different royal families over the years. Centuries later, and today it gives off a very romantic feel and you can see that straight away.

Enjoy exploring the outside and inside of the castle along with the beautiful garden that surrounds this masterpiece!

  • The castle was originally built sometime in the 13th century and has been renovated and reconstructed multiple times since then.
  • The most recent reconstruction happened in the 19th century where the castle was transformed from its previous baroque style to a more romantic style
  • Hey, and if you’re thinking about getting married, there are multiple options for wedding ceremonies inside or outside of the castle! Jokes aside, it would be a beautiful place for a wedding venue.
