Vyhlidka Maj is one of those spots that everyone talks about, but not everyone visits. You’ll have to trek a little ways for this amazing viewpoint. Nothing good comes without effort! It can easily be done as an afternoon day trip from Prague. If you have your own car, then it's even easier to visit this area.
The Czech countryside is absolutely stunning! Vyhlidka Maj is one of our faves. Visit and you’ll understand why Czechs, expats, and tourists all love exploring Central Bohemia. The area is beautiful, but the best way to experience it is on a forest walk. Trek the path that runs parallel to the Vltava River for some great views!. Of course, the best one is from Vyhlidka Maj. The trees open up and you get a perfect view of the horseshoe bend the river makes around the land below.
We definitely recommend exploring the forest and hiking around for a bit. During the fall the trees all turn to beautiful red, orange, and yellow colours that really bring the forest to life.
- There are busses that go from Prague and most people get off either in Stechovice and hike for hours or Teletin and walk the short distance from the bus stop.
- There are multiple viewpoints around the area that are less known so if you have time you can explore the area and try and find more of these spots that overlook the Vltava River.
Tips and Tricks
- Go early in the morning if you want the place to yourself.
- There’s a cute little bakery in Teletin next to the bus stop that is worth checking out.
- Easy to get to from Prague by bus.
- Use MapyCZ for trail guidance if you decide to hike around the area.

- By Car: Parking available.
- By Bus: 16 minutes from bus stop Krňany,Teletín. Bus 361 stops here.
- If you wish to hike around the area, you can also take the bus to stop Štěchovice. Bus 338, 361, and 390 stop here.
