Enjoy some peace and quiet at Vysehrad Park, one of the more romantic areas in the city.

Get away from the city centre for a few hours and enjoy this peaceful paradise up above the Vltava River. The park is perfect for a nice afternoon walk or some time spent off your phone and indulged in a good book on a park bench.

Enjoy a coffee from one of the shops around the park and from there you can explore all the different trails that lead to some breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the river and Prague Castle. You can even have a nice picnic in one of the many grassy areas in the park.

You will also find one of the most iconic churches in the Czech Republic right in the middle of the park. Perched atop the hill, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the church from afar. But it’s worth getting up close and even going inside to see the sheer beauty of this church that dates back to the 10th century!

  • The cemetery next to the church has some famous names buried there. Alfons Mucha is one you may know!
  • The orchards located in the southeastern part of the park are known to be the place of the original vineyard that dates back to the 15th century. If only we could buy some wine from that era...
  • Leopold’s Gate is another famous landmark in Vysehrad Park that is worth visiting. There’s so much history in and around the grounds. The Gate dates back to the mid-1600s.
