Want to visit one of Prague’s most famous streets? Head over to Wenceslas Square and see what all the excitement is about!

Welcome to one of the busiest areas in all of Prague! Wenceslas Square (more a boulevard) is filled with restaurants, shops, museums, and the iconic Wenceslas Monument in front of the National Museum.

Day or night, the square is always bustling with tourists and locals going from one place to another. If you’re looking to sip and dine at a rooftop bar then there’s no better place. Prefer to indulge in some history of the Czech Republic? you can do that. If you want to peak in and out of the markets, you can do that. Wenceslas Square has a variety of different attractions depending on what you’re feeling in the mood for.

The National Museum overlooking the square has recently been renovated and has a lift inside where you can get one of the best views of the whole square!

  • Enjoy a nice walk roaming the side streets around Wenceslas Square where you’ll be surprised at all the places you may find. One of our favourites is Joystick arcade bar, one street over.
  • Right in the middle of the square, you’ll find a lovely market where vendors sell anything from yummy food to Czech nicknacks.
  • Right next to the horse is a popular meetup spot for gatherings such as sporting celebrations, protests, national holidays, and much more. So don’t be surprised to see a group of people when you go!
  • There are plenty of tours and free guided walking tours that go through Wenceslas Square because of its importance to the city. The tours are a great way to learn more about the city and meet some people. Plus these tours usually end up at a pub afterwards!

Tips and Tricks

  • It’s a great place to meet up. All you need to say is “I'll find you under the man on the horse!”
  • The park behind the museum is very well maintained and relaxing
  • Things are going to be more expensive here compared to other parts of Prague
  • Try out one of the rooftop bars. We really like Duplex because of its location and pretty views.
