Dobrée The museum brings together two remarkable buildings: the palace Dobrée neo-medieval style, with its high tower of 30 meters and the mansion of the key.

This museum is intimately linked to Dobrée Thomas (1810-1895), Nantes passionate collector of art. In 1894, Thomas Dobrée bequeathed his works and property in Loire-Atlantique department. the meeting of its collections and those of the Archaeological Society gives birth to Dobrée county museum opens to the public for the first time January 8, 1899.

The gardens are freely open to the public every day except on public holidays, from 8 am to 18:30.

The Palace and the Tower of Dobrée museum is currently closed for renovation. Since September 19, the museum Dobrée, labeled Museum of France, opened some of its spaces and temporary exhibitions there.

The museum is Dobrée property, with the castles of Clisson, Chateaubriant and the field of Garenne Lemot, the Loire-Atlantique department.
