The Basilica of Bom Jesus, having been established in 1594, is the oldest church in Goa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the finest instances of Baroque architecture in India and is appreciated by people across the globe for its intricate architecture. The church is home to the sacred relics of Saint Francis Xavier and several other saints. On December 3 every year, the church organizes a feast in honor of St. Xavier, followed by a 9-day Novena. Thus, it is the busiest time of the year at the church.
