Dona Paula Beach, Goa

The Dona Paula Beach is a calm little beach located on a rocky cape where the Mandovi and Zuari rivers flow into the Arabian Sea. The beach is located 7 kilometers away from Goa's capital, Panjim, and is an absolute favorite for those who prefer to relax on a beach far away from the bustle of city life. The beach is famous for exciting water sports opportunities. Legend has it that the beach got its name from a Portuguese woman called Paula who, unable to be united with her love due to societal pressure, took her life by jumping off a cliff next to the beach. This tale has made the beach quite a romantic destination and is often called the Lovers' Paradise.
