The Nizamat Imambara is located to the north of the Hazarduari Palace in Murshidabad. It is the largest imambara in India. Nawab Nazim Mansoor Ali Khan Feradoon Jah built it in 1847 because the earlier mosque complex, built by nawab Siraj ud-Daulah, got destroyed by a fire. It remains open from 8 AM to 6:30 PM. © istock/ Somnath Chatterjee
