Telaga Remis, Central Java

Telaga Remis is the most natural lake on the northern side of Mt. Ciremai. While other lakes in the area may have been even more beautiful, they have been utterly defaced by tourist development. This one does have a line of basic cafes hugging one of its shores, but the rest is so far unspoiled. Good for sunsets. © Istock/juanda kurnia putra
