Tasikmalaya in West Java still hosts a rare, disappearing craft: traditional umbrella making. The craftsmen don't mind visitors in their workshops, and watching parasols being made is quite interesting. It is also possible to buy them right on the spot - a good, unique souvenir, albeit difficult to travel with.
