Once the core of the mighty Roman Empire, and the cradle of the Renaissance, it is also home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, including high art and monuments. The Cine-Teatro Sociale, owned by S.O.M.S. (Workers' Mutual Aid Society), was built in Omegna (VB) in 1902.

In addition to regular film screenings and the film club, the structure houses seasonally performances of professional and amateur theater, operettas and occasional special events.

The Cine-Teatro Sociale can boast of having hosted over the years personalities of great importance including the Emeritus President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, Arnoldo Foa, Roberto Saviano, Gherardo Colombo, Giulietto Church to name a few.

Since 2007 are projected in live and deferred DIGIMA, performances by the most prestigious Italian theaters such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro degli Arcimboldi, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and so on.
