Filippo Lippi

Possibility to appreciate the talent of this extraordinary painter, remaining fascinated in front of the spirituality of his magnificent works of art. The itinerary wants also to introduce, in addition to his art, even the mysterious side of the artist: he was a strange character, with a scandalous life, accursed ante litteram, possibly he died poisoned. In the main chapel of Prato Cathedral is the most important cycle of Lippi’s frescoes “Stories of St. Stephen and St. John the Baptist”(1452-1465). During the visit it is possible to discover other Lippi’s masterpieces at Palazzo Pretorio Museum and Villa Medicea at Poggio a Caiano.
