The monuments of the complex of Santa Maria del Fiore are concentrated in the main square of Florence, religious and artistic center of the city. But despite being a unique example from the point of view of history, art and faith, they are perceived by visitors in a piecemeal fashion.

To communicate the uniqueness of this great heritage, the Opera has decided to adopt, in addition to a single ticket, a unit name can significantly represent this culture together.

The name chosen is "The Great Cathedral Museum" to emphasize that we are facing a great museum in size and importance, whose center is the Piazza del Duomo, but of which the surrounding monuments are integral parts.

Here have passed and they worked the greatest artists of Medieval and Renaissance: by Arnolfo di Cambio to Filippo Brunelleschi, Andrea del Castagno, Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Leonardo da Vinci, Luca della Robbia, Ghirlandaio, Paolo Uccello, Michelangelo, Vasari and many others, leaving us a legacy works and architectures that are cornerstones of the universal history of art.
