The museum is housed in the historic palace of Podestà of Torcello, in Piazza Galuppi Burano, already home from 1872 to 1970 the famous Lace Centre. In a charming display, which also leads into the museum the islands typical polychrome, they are exhibited rare and precious examples that offer a comprehensive overview of the historical and artistic events of the Venetian lagoon and laces from the origin to the present day. The museum tour, begins in the introductory room on the ground floor, where a movie subtitled in English urges an impressive immersion in the fascinating world of lace, while educational panels reveal the secrets of this skilful technique and its use in more points (point Venezia , Burano point ...). The visit continues on the first floor, where the exhibition is set up chronologically and comprises four rooms, each reflecting the thematic areas: Origins: sixteenth century, Sec. XVII-XVIII, Sec. XIX-XX and The School of Burano Lace (1872-1970).
