Museo Storico della Giostra e dello Spettacolo Popolare

The Historical Museum of the Carousel and the Popular Show of Bergantino is a unique research center of its kind in Italy, which deals with the complex and varied cultural world of the popular spectacle of the square: from the medieval fair to the amusement park of the nineteenth century with its traditional itinerant shows (the Theater of masks, puppets and marionettes, the circus, the walking cinema, the first hand-to-hand rides with ritual origins), up to today's hyper-technological Luna Park with its vertiginous attractions. The exhibition is mainly documentary, supported by curious original objects of the period, precious and rare musical instruments from the nineteenth century, models of ancient and modern carousels perfectly working, artistic artifacts, compelling stories of life of the itinerants, prints and paintings, images and videos in monitors or in video projection: all along a fascinating historical-anthropological path equipped with the most modern tools of multimedia initiation. The route offers the visitor an imaginary journey through the spaces of play and fantasy through distant worlds, concentrated in a circumscribed context and transfigured by an involving and imaginative setting.
