Sepino, also known as Altilia, is the perfect synthesis of the Samnite and Roman flourishing art. Having been the centre of several battles, this suggestive archaeological park is now protected by high walls with four monumental doors placed at the extremity of the cardo and decuman. Here, people can admire the ruins of important buildings such as the Thermae, the Forum with the Augustea Basilica, the Macellum – the old area devoted to the market – and the Theatre dating back to the I century B.C.
