Syracuse

Once the core of the mighty Roman Empire, and the cradle of the Renaissance, it is also home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, including high art and monuments. Italy is famous for its delicious cuisine, it's trendy fashions, luxury sports cars and motorcycles, diverse regional cultures and dialects, as well as for its various sceneries from the seas to the Alps and Apennines, all reasons why it got nickcoded Il Bel Paese (the Beautiful Country). One of the great things about Italy is that its long thin shape means that when you get fed up with sightseeing you are often a relatively short distance from a beach. In many of the more popular areas, large sections of beach are reserved as paid beaches. Italy is full of differents cultures you can see: Etruscan Italy, The Greek influence, Roman ruins, Christian Italy, The Byzantine cities and The Renaissance.

The island has been a crossroads between civilisations for millennia. It is a paradise for history buffs, rich in Greek temples and Roman sites dating back to Antiquity, as well as in Byzantine style buildings. The names of Syracuse and Taormina alone awaken the desire to visit the island. Its gastronomy gives pride of place to citrus fruits, fish and oriental flavours. Situated at a stone's throw from the African continent, it enjoys sunshine almost year-round, a warm climate and a volcanic terrain (with Mount Etna as the largest active volcano in Europe) that is well suited to agriculture.

Sicily

The Westcott Theater is a live music venue located in Syracuse, NY, about 1 mile from Syracuse University.

In 2008, the theater was transformed from a movie cinema into what ended up becoming the premiere live music venue in Upstate NY. Now, in its 5th year, The Westcott Theater boasts an impressive lineup of national, regional and local acts. All genres of live music are represented, making the Westcott a place for music lovers from all walks of life.

The Westcott Box Office is only open during show hours, however The Sound Garden in Armory Square is our retail box office carrying tickets for all of our events.
