Viareggio carnival

This one-month long carnival, regarded as one of the most famous in Italy and even Europe, is mainly known for its colourful parades of paper-pulp floats and masks, real works of art that picture caricatures of popular people. Parades take place on 5 specific days, while concerts and exhibitions happen throughout the whole month, contributing to the festive air in the town.
