Nestled on the hilltop of an old Jordanian village and enclosed within the stone walls of an ancient settlement is Kan Zamaan-Arabic for once upon a time.

Kan Zamaan was once the focal point of Khirbet Abu Jaber, an isolated rural area developed by merchant brothers for farming and ranching. The impressive 19th century estate-dating back to Ottoman rule-served as an agricultural warehouse and a horse barn before succumbing to ruin.

The heritage estate's 21st century renovation into a restaurant incorporated this golden past into the modern, perfectly balancing the old and new.

Today, Kan Zamaan is a distinguished venue that offers unique, authentic Oriental and local cuisine garnished with forgotten traditional flavors to delight local food lovers.

The stable transformed into an elegant dining room, Bustan Kan Zaman (the garden), its stunning breezy patio overlooking the peaceful Al Yadoodeh greenery, and Bread & Salt, a bakery with home, preserved items from our pantry, offered fresh every day on its shelves.

A tale recounted again

With its ancient stone walls, Kan Zaman is located on the top of an ancient Jordanian hill where it began as a focal point in Khirbet Abu Jaber, which was established by two local brothers to be an isolated area for agriculture and livestock. It dates back to the Ottoman period in the 19th century, where the edifice was a storehouse for agricultural products and a stable for horses before history revived it.

This historic building was restored and restored in the 21st century and transformed into a restaurant to remain a reminder of its immortal past, where it meets the old in perfect harmony, boasting its new style and distinguished by authentic oriental and local cuisine prepared with traditional flavors that revived it.

There are three distinct parts of Kan Zaman's restaurant: the stylish restaurant lounge which was a long-standing tower, a timeless garden with its beautiful courtyard overlooking the green area of ​​Yadodeh, and a bread and salt bakery that offers daily fresh baked goods as well as the finest Jordanian marmalade on its shelves.
