An administrative building with several festival halls.

Originally used as a meeting place for the city's political and cultural elite, the structure was built in the early 20th century. Many cultural institutions, such as a library, a music academy, and a cultural centre, may be found in Cercle Municipal today. The building has a number of event venues, such as a large concert hall, a dining hall, and other smaller conference rooms.

A wide range of events and exhibitions, including art exhibitions, concerts, and theatrical performances, take place in the building throughout the year. The Cercle Municipal not only has event rooms but also serves as home to a number of cultural groups and organisations, such as the Circle of Letters and Art, the Circle of Natural Sciences, and the Luxembourg Chess Federation.

Cercle Municipal is known for its magnificent architecture, which incorporates aspects of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. The structure has stunning mosaic flooring in the foyer and a grand staircase with wrought-iron railings, among other fine details and decorative components. The Grand Ducal Palace and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, two of Luxembourg's most well-known landmarks, are both within easy walking distance of Cercle Municipal, which is situated in a prominent area of the city. Given the number of eateries and cafés surrounding the building, both travellers and residents frequently stop by to grab a bite to eat or a cup of coffee.
