This public park is a popular spot for everything outdoors.

The park was established in the late 19th century and was once a wealthy Luxembourgish family's private garden. In the 1930s, the city of Luxembourg bought the property and made it accessible to the public. Since that time, the park has had a number of restorations and enhancements, including the construction of a pond, a playground, and a basketball court that are all ideal for both children and adults.

The park experienced severe bombing raid damage during World War Two, and much of the natural vegetation was destroyed. The park was renovated and replaced with fresh trees and bushes following the war.

  • Joggers and walkers like to use the routes because they offer beautiful city views.
  • Wildflowers, birds, and tiny mammals are just a few of the diverse plant and animal life that may be found in the park.
  • The vast network of walking trails in Parc de Merl-Belair meanders through the park's forested parts and along its mountain terrain.
