This panoramic elevator connects the historic city centre down to the Pfaffenthal valley area.
This elevator attracts cyclists, tourists, and residents because of how quick and efficient it is to get between the city centre and the Pfaffenthal valley. The architects aimed to maximise the comfort and experience of various people. The goal for the construction of this lift was to provide access from the lower city to the upper parts of Luxembourg, and it succeeded!
This lift is able to travel 60m in just 30 seconds! While construction started in 2006, it wasn’t completed until 2017 because of various delays. The elevator is built right into the Cote d’Eich hillside, providing a scenic view for all and is 302 metres in length.
The lift is composed of three glass cabins that connect to a central platform. There are also speakers to provide everyone with a variety of classical music!
