An unmissable area of Brussels, Mont des Arts has some beautiful sights to see. Come to Mont des Arts for one of the best views of the city, especially at night when it's all lit up! Monts de Arts means “Hill of the arts” in English. Come by to see the Brussels Town Hall and the Grand-Place, plus the lovely garden of Mont des Arts itself. Mont des Arts was made back in 1910 after King Leopold II commissioned the creation of Monts Des Arts by Jules Vacherot for Expo 58.

Mont des Arts is a popular tourist spot in Brussels thanks to its scenery and views it offers of the city. While it's a bit touristy, the nighttime view is worth it!

  • Musicians often busk at the plaza at the top of Mont des Arts. While you’re waiting for the sunset, enjoy the beautiful scenery and music.
  • Wander around a little from the steps to discover some gems of Brussels’ architecture. At the bottom end of Mont des Arts is the back of the Royal Palace of Brussels, where you’ll see a beautiful golden clock on its walls. The nearby Musical Instruments’ Museum is also worth a look as it’s in a beautiful old Art Nouveau-style shop.
